Jewett, 8 Nov. 1877; a letter to Gen. George W. Wingate, general inspector of rifle practice, 26 Nov. 1878, regarding marksman badges; Penfold's honorable discharge, signed by Gov. Grover Cleveland, 27 Apr. 1883; and an invitation to a staff banquet, 28 May 1904, signed by Adjutant General Albert H. Rogers. Also, a letter from [Paul] Mantz, director general of Beaux-Arts in Paris, 23 May 1882, regarding Penfold's tableau "la mort du premier-né"; Penfold's business card; and several newspaper clippings concerning his resignation as inspector of rifle practice of the 74th Regiment, the regiment band, the presentation of a silver water cooler to the Co. B rifle team, and a sword presented to Rear Admiral Winfield Scott Schley by the Royal Arcanum of the United States, for his victory over the Spanish at Santiago, 3 July 1898.
